Terrorist hideout busted in makhidar forest area of Reasi district, huge cache of arms and ammunitions recovered Reasi Updates Mahore : J&K Police (Mahore) along with Indian Army Mahore on Wednesday busted a terrorist hideout in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district and recovered a rich haul of arms and ammunitions, including explosives, automatic rifles and pistols, officials said. Based on specific information from a reliable source, joint parties of the Jammu and Kashmir Police from Police Station Mahore and the Indian army Mahore launched a cordon and search operation in the Makhidar forest area at around 5 AM in the early morning and found an underground hideout built of stones, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Reasi, Rashmi Wazir said. During the search operation, war like stores were recovered. The seizure included one AK 47 rifle with 02 magazine, one SLR Rifle, one 303 bolt action rifle with magazines, two chinese pistols with 02 magazines and ammunition’s which includes ammunition’s of AK 47-one tin box (748 bullets) and 59 (loose) dragonov/snipper rifle bullets, (05 bullets) SLR bullets, (08), 04 UBGL grenades and two VHF radio sets with antennas were also recovered. “The timely recovery of huge cache of arms and ammunition has thwarted any possible untoward incident in otherwise peaceful region and has scuttled the nefarious plans of terrorist outfits to try derail peace and harmony in the region South of Pir Panjal Ranges,” she said. Security forces are conducting searches in the area and a case FIR No. 05/ 2021 U/S 120-B 121.122.123.124 IPC 13/18/23/39 U.L Act. 7/25 A.
