The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board supports Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has taken a step to support local communities by connecting more than 13 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to supply religious items like raksha sutra and mouli used in Prasad.
This decision was taken in a meeting led by LG Manoj Sinha, with the aim of giving work opportunities to local women and youth.
Around 450-500 women are currently working through these SHGs, helping them earn and support their families. The Board’s CEO, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, said this initiative will provide steady income, promote local skills, and empower women.
Last year, SHGs earned about Rs 3.5 crore through this effort. The Board is now planning to include more groups, which could benefit up to 1500 women in the region.
The initiative aims to boost local economy and create more job opportunities at the grassroots level.
